Activities and Attractions

Visitors to Maybury Farm’s spring opening will be treated to a variety of seasonal activities that celebrate the renewal of farm life. The baby animal barn will be a major highlight, featuring adorable newborn lambs, kids (baby goats), chicks, and bunnies that epitomize the spring season. Families can participate in guided farm tours where knowledgeable staff explain sustainable farming practices and introduce visitors to the farm’s permanent animal residents, including horses, pigs, chickens, and more. The demonstration garden will showcase early spring plantings, with master gardeners on hand to answer questions about home gardening and seasonal growing techniques.

Beyond animal encounters, the opening day festivities will include traditional farm demonstrations such as wool spinning, butter making, and blacksmithing that connect visitors to agricultural traditions. Children will delight in the expanded play area featuring farm-themed equipment built from natural materials, while the whole family can enjoy navigating the farm’s nature trails that wind through budding woodlands and meadows. The farm store will be fully stocked with locally-produced honey, maple syrup, handcrafted items, and farm-fresh products, allowing visitors to take a part of Maybury home with them. Spring-themed crafts and activities stationed throughout the property will provide creative outlets for younger visitors to express their excitement for the new season.

Visitor Information

Planning your visit to Maybury Farm’s spring opening is simple with several admission options to suit different needs. General admission is priced at $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $7 for children ages 3-12, with children under 2 entering free. For families planning multiple visits throughout the season, annual memberships provide excellent value at $50 for individuals and $85 for families, offering unlimited admission and special discounts on farm programs and events. The farm will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on opening day, with these hours continuing throughout the spring season (Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays except for holidays).

For the most current information about special opening day activities, weather updates, or to purchase advance tickets, visitors are encouraged to check the farm’s website at mayburyfarm.org. Opening day attendees will receive a special commemorative seed packet to plant at home, and the first 100 families will receive a complimentary tote bag featuring the farm’s new seasonal design. Ample parking is available on-site at no additional charge, though carpooling is encouraged during peak hours. For those with mobility concerns, the main pathways and many of the animal viewing areas are accessible, with staff available to assist visitors with special needs. Don’t forget to dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes suitable for a farm environment!
