Mark your calendars for July 9, 2025. Northville, Michigan, is rolling out the green carpet for the 31st Annual Garden Walk, and you’re invited. Whether you’re a plant whisperer, a casual flower fan, or just looking for a fresh excuse to spend a Wednesday outside, this event is your ticket to a blooming good time.
What’s the Buzz About?
The Northville Garden Walk is not your average stroll through the park. Organized by the Country Garden Club of Northville, this event is a self-guided tour of six beautiful, private gardens, each with its own personality and story. From clever landscaping tricks to jaw-dropping flower beds, you’ll find plenty of inspiration for your own patch of earth.
The gardens are open from 9 AM to 4 PM, rain or shine. Don’t worry about a little drizzle—garden lovers are a hardy bunch, and the show goes on no matter the weather. Just remember to bring your umbrella if the forecast looks iffy.
Start at the Heart: The Green Space
Kick off your adventure at the event’s staging area, known as the “Green Space” at 199 S. Wing Street, right behind the Northville District Library. This spot is more than just a starting line. Here, you’ll find:
-
Upper and lower library gardens, lovingly maintained by Northville’s two garden clubs
-
Tickets for sale (if you haven’t bought yours in advance)
-
Artisans and vendors selling unique garden-themed treasures and plants
-
Beverages to keep you refreshed
-
Ample free parking both on the street and in a nearby lot
The Green Space is within walking distance of downtown Northville, so you can easily add a little shopping or a lunch break to your day. The area is packed with restaurants and local shops—perfect for a mid-walk recharge.
How the Walk Works
This is a self-directed tour. You can start at any time during the day and visit the gardens in any order. Since the gardens aren’t all next door to each other, plan to drive between stops. Your ticket comes with a map, garden descriptions, and driving directions, so you won’t miss a thing.
Pro tip: Every visitor needs a ticket, but kids under 12 get in free. Gardens are not wheelchair accessible, and strollers aren’t allowed inside the gardens, so plan accordingly.
Tickets: Get Yours Early and Save
If you like a good deal, buy your tickets in advance for $15. Advance tickets are available starting June 9 at Gardenviews at Home (117 E. Main Street, Northville) or online through Eventbrite. If you’re a last-minute planner, tickets are $20 on the day of the event, sold only at the Green Space or on Eventbrite. All sales are final, and the event happens rain or shine.
Why Go?
Besides the obvious perks—gorgeous gardens, fresh air, and a day out in a friendly community—there’s a feel-good factor. Proceeds from the Garden Walk fund scholarships for Schoolcraft College students and support horticultural and environmental organizations. So, your ticket isn’t just a pass to a day of beauty; it’s an investment in the next generation of gardeners and green thinkers.
What You’ll See
Each year, the Country Garden Club curates a mix of gardens to keep things interesting. Expect to see:
-
Creative landscaping ideas you’ll want to steal for your own yard
-
Colorful flower beds and unique plant combinations

Garden art and clever outdoor décor
-
Tips and tricks from experienced gardeners
And if you’re the type who wants a sneak peek, check out photos from previous years on the club’s website. You might spot a few familiar faces—or flowers.
Shop, Sip, and Stroll
The Green Space isn’t just a ticket booth. It’s a mini market for all things garden. Browse booths filled with:
-
Handcrafted garden art
-
Unusual plants and flowers
-
Garden tools and accessories
Grab a drink, chat with fellow plant fans, and maybe pick up something special for your own garden.
Make a Day of It
