Northville Now

Northville, MI Community

Northville, Michigan, is ready for a season of celebration, pride, and plenty of confetti. The Class of 2025 is about to step into the spotlight, and the whole community is joining in to cheer them on. Whether you’re a proud parent, a graduating senior, or a neighbor who loves a good parade, there’s something for everyone in Northville’s graduation festivities this year.

The Main Event: Northville High School’s Senior Car Parade

Mark your calendars: Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. is the big day for Northville High School’s Class of 2025. The annual Senior Car Parade is back and promises to be a highlight for students and families alike. The parade starts at Ward Church and rolls west along 6 Mile Road, ending at Northville High School. Families can start lining up their cars at 3:00 p.m.; don’t be late, as the line-up closes at 3:40 p.m.

Here’s how it works:

  • Each family gets one vehicle, or seniors can ride together.

  • An adult must drive; sorry, no student drivers this year.

  • Decorate your car with Northville or college colors, and don’t forget to put the graduate’s name on display.

  • Seniors: Show your spirit by wearing Northville gear, college swag, or your cap and gown.

  • For the best crowd reaction, decorate the passenger side of your vehicle.

The parade route will be closed to westbound traffic during the event, so expect lots of cheering, honking, and happy faces along 6 Mile Road. The parade ends at the high school, where cars will cruise past the main entrance and soccer field before heading home. No parking or stopping at the school lot, keep the celebration rolling!

Community members are encouraged to join the fun by lining the parade route, waving signs, and showing their support. If you snap some great photos, share them with the community using the official Google Folder for the 2025 Car Parade.

More Local Graduation Highlights

Northville’s schools are celebrating all ages this year. At Our Lady of Victory School, the 8th Grade Graduation happens on Monday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m. There’s also a special Kindergarten Celebration on May 22. For the youngest students, porch parties and “clap outs” add a little extra sparkle to the end of the school year.

Our Lady of Victory Catholic Parish is hosting a Special Blessing Mass for all 2025 graduates on Sunday, June 8, at 9:30 a.m. Graduates and their families are invited to a donut reception after Mass. A sweet way to mark this milestone and connect with friends before summer adventures begin.

Graduation Party Planning: Northville Style

Ready to throw a graduation party that everyone will remember? Start with the basics:

  • Pick a date that doesn’t conflict with the parade or other big events.

  • Book your venue early. Popular local spots like Ford Field Park or Maybury State Park are perfect for outdoor gatherings.

  • Send invitations at least a month in advance.

  • Choose a theme: school colors, future college, or even a favorite hobby.

  • Don’t forget the food! Finger foods, pizza, and a dessert table are always crowd-pleasers.

  • Set up a photo booth with props for fun memories.

  • Arrange a playlist with the grad’s favorite songs.

Pro tip: Create a checklist so nothing slips through the cracks. Think about decorations, a guest book, and a spot for cards and gifts. For outdoor parties, have a backup plan in case of rain.

Gift Ideas for Every Graduate

Looking for the perfect graduation gift? Northville’s grads will appreciate something thoughtful and practical. Here are a few favorites:

  • Diploma frame with tassel holder: A classic way to display that hard-earned diploma.

  • Custom photo book: Collect memories from school days and create a keepsake.

  • Money cake: For a fun twist, roll up bills and build a “cake,” a treat and a treasure.

  • Mini projector: Perfect for movie nights in a new dorm or apartment.

  • Air fryer or toaster oven: Great for grads moving into their first place.

  • Travel mug or smart mug: Keep coffee hot on the go.

  • Gift cards: Always useful, especially for new adventures.

  • Trivia games or books: Lighten the mood and keep the learning going.

  • Charcuterie board set: For grads who love to entertain.

Personal touches matter. A handwritten card, a photo collage, or a favorite childhood book can mean just as much as any gadget or gift card.
